Everglades National Park in southern Florida has a problem, and Skip Snow is trying to solve it. Snow is a biologist working for the National Park Service, an organization that protects America's national parks.
Part of Snow's job is to capture giant pythons (PYE thahnz) in the Everglades. Some pet owners who buy these snakes as babies release them in the park when they get too big. Then, Snow says, the pythons kill smaller animals. They also take away food and living space from other snakes and animals. Pythons can be dangerous to humans. It is Snow's job to keep as many of these snakes out of the Everglades as possible.
People who see pythons in the park call Snow. Snow and other park workers capture the giant snakes. This helps keep the Everglades safe for the park's animals and visitors.
What knowledge and skills do you think Skip Snow has that help him do his job well?
